A Lifetime of Service. A Record of Conservative Results.

A product of Cumberland and York Counties, Mike Regan is running for the State Senate to continue protecting our families, seniors, and taxpayers. A proven conservative, Mike has the background, experience, and vision to be our next State Senator.

Proven Conservative Leadership

As a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, Mike has earned a reputation as a fiscal conservative who believes in the importance of family, and service to country and community. He has held the line on taxes and has only voted for balanced budgets that protected taxpayers. He is a member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Pension Reform and has focused on protecting current workers while creating a 401K-like retirement system for all new hires that is more in line with the private sector.

Since his election in 2012, Regan has led on reform, and has worked to protect taxpayers and our families. His legislation to increase penalties for luring a child was signed into law last session. Regan also authored legislation, which has passed the House, to deny welfare benefits for persons convicted of drug distribution crimes and non-compliant Megan’s Law registrants. His bills are designed to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the welfare system.

Service to Country

Smiling senior businessmanMike served our country as a member of the United States Marshals Service within the U.S. Department of Justice. He started his career as a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Southern District of Florida, where he would serve as Deputy-in-Charge of the security detail of former dictator Manuel Noriega during his pre-trial hearings. Mike returned to Pennsylvania in 1990 as a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the Middle District. During these years, he was known for his integrity, intelligence, and attention to detail, qualities that will serve him well as our State Senator.

In 2002, Mike was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate to be the U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  During his tenure, the office increased felony fugitive arrests by 300% and received the highest audit program review score of any district. This review looked at all aspects of operations, including financial, management, and investigative practices.  He is now running for the State Senate to use his leadership skills, and experience balancing budgets and controlling costs, to protect local taxpayers, reform state government, and create a positive environment for local job creators.

Defender of Taxpayers

In 2011, Mike became the Deputy Inspector General of Pennsylvania. The mission of this important office is to prevent, investigate, and eradicate waste, fraud, and abuse in state agencies and the Department of Public Welfare.  During his service there, he saw firsthand how government can and needs to become more efficient and effective.  It is Mike’s lifetime of experience that helps him bring fiscal sanity to Harrisburg – to control spending, ensure our tax dollars are being spent wisely, and make our Commonwealth more competitive in order to retain and attract new jobs.

Throughout his professional career and personal life, Mike has been dedicated to service – be it to our country or to our local community. In recognition of his service, Mike received the Public Service Excellence Award from the City of Harrisburg and the Distinguished Service Medal from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Husband, Father and Community Leader

Mike_Boys_Football_9895Mike and his wife, Fran, are raising their four children, Shea, Brooke, Ty, and Chase in Carroll Township, where they attend local schools in the Northern York School District.  Over the years, Mike has always found time to share countless hours with his children and other children in the region by coaching wrestling, football, and soccer.
Mike will never forget where he comes from or who he represents – the hard working men and women whose tax dollars fund state government.

A strong fiscal conservative, Mike shares our belief that government must live within its means, just like local residents are doing every day in their homes and small businesses.  As our State Senator, he will use his experience and proven abilities to change the way state government does business by putting taxpayers first again.

Most importantly, Mike will always ensure that our local family values and strong Second Amendment values are represented in Harrisburg…the values he learned growing up right here in Cumberland County and in the service of our country.
